On 2 May you will go to the polls to decide about who you want to represent you
locaily in our ward and run the City of York Council. =. =...
For the past four years, the Council has been run by a Tory and Lib Dem coalition
that has failed the people of York. You deserve better. Only Labour has the vision
and the will to turn around the neglect this city has suffered.
Labour will get the basics right and restore people’s pride in their street, community
and city. One in five of York’s minor roads needs repair. Fly-tipping and uncollected
bins blight too ur streets. Labour will: |
. 1 each year for pothole repairs.
waste collections annually and respond to fly-tipping
is enough staff to collect bins on time.
Labour will tackle the big challenges facing our city. Sky-high prices for housing
coupled with low-paid, unstable jobs means more families are struggling. There are
illegal levels of air pollution across the city centre and the deadline to halt climate
change is fast approaching. Labour will:
« Double the rate of affordable homebuilding.
e Invest in inclusive growth to deliver better-paid, secure jobs.
e Make York carbon neutral by 2030.
As Labour councillors we will continue to seek out and listen to your views to make
sure that all our services are built around the needs of the people we serve.
Give all three of your votes to Labour so, working with our Labour MP Rachael Maskell,
we can deliver on our promise of a fairer, greener and more compassionate York.
Yours sincerely, :
L
